As of 2/23/2015, we became aware that some users are not able to get to the college's homepage at http://www.gfcmsu.edu.
If you only need access to D2L or Banner Web but are unable to reach the college page, you can go to use the following addresses to reach them directly.
Banner Web - https://atlas.montana.edu:9001
Student Email - http://mail.gapps.montana.edu/
If you need to access the college's webpage and are unable to, please follow the instructions below to workaround the issue. Please note: this workaround assumes that you are able to get to www.montana.edu with no problem but are unable to get to www.gfcmsu.edu.
The workaround involves changing the Domain Name Servers (DNS) your computer uses to locate websites on the Internet. The instructions below show how to make these changes on a Windows PC and also on a Mac.
Open DNS: 184.108.40.206 & 220.127.116.11
To change your DNS servers on a PC, go to the Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > click on the adapter or connection you are using (Could be various names, but usually only one that is either wired or wireless).
In the popup window, click on Properties.
You may or may not get a popup window asking to continue. If so, click yes.
Scroll down in the list until you see Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), highlight it, and then click properties.
Then, in the bottom half of the screen, select the "Use the following DNS server addresses:".
Now you can put either of the two sets of numbers from above in here:
